My Story
I always felt something bigger than myself was waiting for me. I just didn't know what it looked like yet.
I grew up a creative kid — choir, music, always building something, curious about the world and others. I loved expressing myself, but I also grew up feeling a little misunderstood; like the way I saw the world didn't quite fit the containers I was being handed. For a long time, I felt like I had to keep things in separate rooms, until I realized I didn't need to fit into a specific room. I needed a space where all of it could exist together.
I came to holistic wellness not as a practitioner, but as someone on their own journey, running on empty in ways I couldn't fully explain. For the first time, I had a doctor who actually listened and built a plan for me, not just my symptoms. I didn't just feel better. I felt present in my body in a way I hadn't in years. At peace. Like myself again. And this time? With more clarity.
I was a deep-feeler who'd learned to think her way around feeling, instead of through it. Music and movement have always been my outlet, a place where feeling didn't need to make sense. It just needed to move. It gave me room to explore within myself the rawest parts, the anger, the grief, the joy, to remain curious. To be in my body instead of outside of it.
I know what it’s like to feel afraid of the unknown and yet drawn to it, making peace with uncertainty. For a time, that fear held me back. Yet the very feeling of uncertainty became the door I knew I had to walk through, and the expansion I felt began to far outweigh the fear. It was a choice between familiarity and freedom. Transformation unfolds in the space between where we are and where we want to be. It asks us to look within and come out changed.
So my path was built from pieces; not because I always knew where they'd lead, but because I always trusted there was something more. Psychology, neuroscience, energy work, music, spiritual practice; they were tools. It was the intention behind them that led me back to myself. To my inner knowing. Practices that didn’t need to be separated, but rather integrated.
And I realized the same creative, intuitive child I had always been was still within me. She had never left — she had been leading me home.
I wasn't creating something new by choosing one part of myself over another. I was creating something by honoring all of it.
Beyond Soma was born from all of it. From every lesson, every transition, every moment I chose to look within instead of away. A promise to my inner child, and to yours.

About Me
My name is Desi.
I’m an Integrative Coach and Artist with a holistic approach, blending psychology, educational neuroscience, somatic awareness, and creative expression to meet you exactly where you are.
I know what it feels like to move through the unknown, while still holding an unwavering faith that continues to guide the way. I also know what it feels like when that begins to shift — when you feel present in your body, at peace, and connected to yourself in a way that goes deeper than you’d imagined.
That shift set the path to what I’ve created, and it’s why I do this work: a belief in our shared humanity, the possibility of joy, and creating a space to soften and connect.
My path began through my own journey and my time working alongside a holistic doctor, where I witnessed what becomes possible when we honor the connection between mind, body, and spirit. That experience shapes how I show up with others today, meeting you where you are while holding a holistic perspective that integrates all of you.
I’ve supported people through creative blocks, performance nerves, life transitions, and moments of feeling disconnected from themselves. While every journey is different, the intention behind my work remains the same: creating a space where people can slow down and listen inward.

I’ve always been drawn to self-expression, new experiences, and the many ways we understand ourselves and the world around us. And I've learned that the deepest clarity often comes through stillness: a space not to do more, but to let what I'm feeling land. A reminder to slow down and honor where I am. Sometimes I still need that reminder.
Outside of this work, you’ll usually find me playing tennis, writing music, spending time in nature, and more recently, exploring Qi gong outdoors.
You don’t have to do this alone. If something here resonates with you, I’d love to connect.
